detox - day 15

Today is the first day of my juice fast. I woke up at 9:30am, took the systemic enzymes, drank 4 ounces of spirulina and then took the oil of oregano. Next I made a 1 ounce shot of wheat grass.  Then I downed 6 ounces of rejuvelac.

I decided not to go the gym, as you are not supposed to do vigorous excersise on a fast, and instead decided to stay home and make a green juice (kale, spinach, parsley, mint, carrot & lemon). I immediately drank 8 ounces of the juice and saved the rest for later.

Then I applied my BB SEAWEED mask to my face. While waiting to rinse off my face mask, I started soaking more wheatgrass seeds.

After rinsing off my mask, I headed out the door to my first oxygen bath appointment. This was not your typical bath, as you will see from the picture below.  Once you remove your clothes, you open the doors and have a seat.  The attendant then comes into the room, secures the doors and puts a towel around your neck - your head is the only thing not enclosed. Then a very intense oxygen steam enters the pod and you begin to sweat profusely - I don't know how hot it got, but it was hot enough for the towels to feel like they were burning my neck! After 15 minutes I could not bear the heat any longer and I had to come out; I was also feeling quite nauseous. After resting for a few minutes on the daybed in the room, I got back in and managed to stay in another 10 minutes. When I got out, my hands were shaking and I felt very thirsty, so I immediately drank 2 glasses of water. I have one more oxygen bath appointment on Thursday and hope that I will be able to stay in a bit longer.  Wish me luck!

After my oxygen bath, I headed downstairs for my colonic. There was a noticeable difference in my release from having just done the bath. Afterward I felt super relaxed.
I then walked over to Karyn's Fresh Corner where I picked up a shot of wheatgrass and a bottle of her green star juice (kale, celery, parsley & lemon) and coconut water.

Then I was off to teach at the academy. While teaching I drank the coconut water. After I was finished, I drove to my German class. During class, I sipped on my green star juice. Of course my green juice grabbed the attention of my fellow classmates, which prompted many inquiries. When I told everyone I was doing a detox and this was the first day of my juice fast, their immediate response was, "I could never do that or I'm an omnivore!"

On the way home from class, Andrew and I were talking about these common first responses. It was the same type of response I got from people when I first told them I was gluten free. Of course I did not really have much of a choice, having celiac disease.  Regardless, what if my first response would have been, "I cannot do that for the rest of my life?"  I'm not sure how my health would be today if I had thought those words.  What I did instead was try to focus on the foods I could still eat - and believe me, there are plenty!  I guess I just wish people could see past their food imprinting.

After class I came home and took the systemic enzymes and another dose of the oil of oregano. Then I drank the rest of my green juice that I had made earlier in the day.

Later I made a fresh batch of kamut water, which I then drank. I concluded the evening by drinking the oxykare water. Then I was off to bed.

In terms of symptoms, I did not really have any to speak of except for having moments where I felt super hungry. Usually within 5 to 10 minutes those hunger pangs went away, though.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
