inner-peace

I came across this insightful piece on Join if you're able to THINK FOR YOURSELF and thought I would share it with everyone:

What disrupts our inner-peace is never a particular circumstance. It is never reality itself that is responsible for our experience of it. What is responsible for our state of being is how we INTERPRET reality. And who is it that's responsible for our own interpretations? We are. We are the ones who choose to interpret in a certain way, and only we can shift our perceptions. No matter how helpless  we feel we are to our own reactions, emotions, beliefs and thoughts, we are ultimately in charge of whether we will take them seriously and allow them to run our lives, or simply recognize them for what they are and let them go. There may be many external influences encouraging us to perceive life and ourselves in a certain way, but who is prone to being influenced? The one who allows something other than who it truly is to define how they should think, react and feel about themselves–whether it be a thought, a person, a past experience or a belief system. It is time for us to learn this powerful lesson.

''The world is full of hoops... but the hooks are ours.''  ~Nisargadatta

As our consciousness shifts, we will begin to realise that the external world isn't as important as how we interpret and experience it. Because in the end, the external world is simply a reflection of us. The role of the external world is nothing more than to assist us in facing ourselves, and ultimately to help us remember that we are the ones projecting the light show, moment by moment. It is not there for us to point our fingers at... a mirror can only remind us of our own state of being.

If we fear facing our own selves, if we are at war more than we are at peace with ourselves, if we feel separate from everyone and everything, if we believe we are powerless and needy, if we think we are nothing more than our looks, our thoughts and our emotions... is it any wonder that we experience a world where fear overules love, war overules peace, separation overules unity, dependancy overules freedom, and superficiality overules the soul?

"First realize that your world is only a reflection of yourself and then stop finding fault with the reflection."  ~Nisargadatta

Humanity is now in the process of purging and clearing all old densities, patterns, identifications and beliefs that have led us to this state of near self-destruction. On an individual level, this process is being felt very strongly. Old emotional bagagges are coming back to the surface, enabling us to 'make peace' with them so to speak. In some cases, challenging situations are playing out in our lives, bringing forth our insecurities, doubts, fears and pain bodies. In other cases, such emotions are even being felt without the need of a specific event triggering them.

Does this mean we should rush to block and fight against every thought or emotional reaction passing through our awareness? Absolutely not. Nothing is healed, nothing is cleared and no lesson is learned if we do not allow ourselves to stand completely open and vulnerable when faced with our emotional charges. Emotions, thoughts and reactions are not to be feared or judged, nor are the challenges that has brought them to the surface. As we are going through this shift in consciousness, our soul only asks for us to recognize them for what they are: a learning experience, a mind story, a temporary identification with form that does need to be held on to. One that has allowed us to have a colorful journey of play and of growth. One that has given us the excitment of a life story, and an opportunity for us to remember that we are much, much grander than the story.

We are now in the process of letting go of how identified we have become with story and form. And by allowing ourselves to step out of the definitions that we have become attached to for so long, this will allow us to enter an entirely new higher dimension of consciousness and ultimately human experience. This is the whole point of this global shift. Instead of living our lives driven by the unconscious egoic mind, we are invited to live our lives driven by our true essence. We are the eternal, storyless and formless consciousness inhabiting the character and observing the story. We are the silence behind the thoughts, the lifeforce of the body, the creator of the experience, and the love we thought we had to seek elsewhere. We are here to remember who we truly are, and create an entirely new world that is in tune with our most natural state.

''Identification with your mind creates an opaque screen of concepts, labels, images, words, judgments, and definitions that blocks all true relationship. It comes between you and yourself, between you and your fellow man and woman, between you and nature, between you and God. It is this screen of thought that creates the illusion of separateness, the illusion that there is you and a totally separate 'other'. You then forget the essential fact that, underneath the level of physical appearances and separate forms, you are one with all that is.''

~Eckhart Tolle
