About Me

I am a professional cellist living in Chicago with my husband, Andrew, and two birds, Henry and Miles. I have lots of interests that range from outdoor activities like hiking and biking to cooking, reading, writing poetry and yoga. I feel very fortunate to have had a unique and varied career path, which has definitely enriched my life. These days I enjoy teaching, performing and living each day to its fullest.

This blog is a place for me to share whatever comes to me from my cittas - moments of consciousness.  When I was diagnosed with celiac disease and lymphocytic colitis in February of 2010, I was awakened to a totally different lifestyle.  As I progressed on this path, my eyes were opened to many truths.  I also realized the potential I had to heal my body through diet and most importantly, my thoughts.  In December of 2011 I went vegan and have never felt better.  All of the recipes I post on my blog are vegan, gluten and soy free; many are inspired by fellow bloggers and some are original creations or simply variations on a theme.

I believe the Universe places obstacles in our path to wake us up. We may struggle to overcome them, but as we do, we become stronger individuals and miraculously find our way.  So I have come to learn that struggle is not always bad, for it is a sign that we are climbing...

Namaste.
